MATTHEW CASSAR ART

Artist

My artistic vision and basic source of inspiration is light and atmosphere, dynamics and movement. I am fascinated by rough stormy seas as since early youth I used to observe and meditate rolling waves, studying their oscillatory movement as they rush and break on the shore. My favourite artist is Turner and I mainly work in oil.

ABOUT MY WORK

Artistic Inspirations

Matthew Cassar is a poet of nature. He is inspired by stretches of churning sea, by waves, by solid rocks. He loves moody skies with golden light, with red blood sunsets, by billowing clouds, skylines, fields and vegetation. Sea, sky, clouds, earth and trees fascinate him. He feels in complete harmony with the land and in direct empathy with nature. He loves the contemplative silence of the countryside: it is music to his ears, eyes and mind.
